Question about Westboro Baptist Church?

I've seen these people in the news lately protesting soldier funeral and memorial services as well as picketing Heath Ledger's funeral (because he starred in a movie they didn't agree with). As far as the Christian religion goes, where would you put these people. They seem about as hateful as they come. I can't even imagine the pain of the families of the GI's funerals they protested at. Do these people really have a better chance of getting into heaven than a non denominational person who gave their life to charity? Just curious to see how other people felt about this.
