Why do folks say experiencing god the best possible feeling we can have?

To me what folks get when experiencing god is a feeling of great enlightenment a wonderful peaceful feeling and all because they have faith. What is faith? Faith is believing in something. Faith cannot move mountains but it can keep our bodies and minds in the best condition they can be in. Beliefs cannot become something we can know for fact till absolute proof enters the equation. Is that wonderful feeling actually god or the Holy Spirit? Or is it your interpretation of what you believe a feeling of god wold be like? To me the enlightenment that awareness brings us is a feeling which to me is the same as a god experience.
