What's the deal with points on Yahoo! Answers?

Unfortunately there are people that will place a high value on useless things, here on yahoo it's the 2 points for answering questions and the pursuit of best answer has some people willing to cheat just to get them. Maybe people with low self esteem need the worthless points to make themselves feel like they have some value when it just shows how pathetic they really are. About points for unanswered questions--- when a question does not have any answers after 4 days it is removed and 0 points returned. When a question is in voting if the voters vote no best answer the question is removed and the askers 5 points returned. A question in voting without any votes can be there for a very long time.
