College or girlfriend?

i have to go away to college however I have a girlfriend but when I am away at school I dont want her making its a living hell i want to have fun in college. I dont want to argue on the phone because she is getting jealous and mad when I go out with new friends to parties or hangout with girls because my girlfriend I have now has jealousy and trust issues. Or have her get mad when I dont call her because I am going to be busy with school work. We have been dating for a year and a half and I do love her but she is my first girlfriend and we are different. Our beliefs and goals in life are the complete opposite. I dont want to break her heart but it just fells like I have to to do what I want to do with my life. So should we try and see if it works out thru college or should I realize there are alot more girls out there?
