Will my puppy be OK if I get a Kitten?

I have an 8 month old Chihuahua/Maltese. She is a sweetheart. She is the best puppy anyone could ever wish for. The thing is most of the times when i am home, I don't play enough with her. Since kittens are low maintenance, I was wondering would she be OK, if I get her a little buddy to play with when i am occupied around the house. I mean they are babies, but do you think they would fight? my little chi is not aggressive at all.
